Holidays

This holiday season, i couldn't have asked for more than to simply spend some quality time with the people that i love. Although Christmas this year is less festive than last year, i'm very thankful to have my family and friends by my side to share the joy, the laughter and the happiness. It's not about the gifts, but about those moments that makes the holiday season a memorable one.

Have a happy and safe holiday everyone! :)

When Harry Met Sally

"I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Year's Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."

All i want for Christmas is a Harry...

Grown up gifts

When i was 6, all i wanted for Christmas was the Sailor Moon pen wand. Even though i'm their only daughter, my parents never spoiled me when it came to give my brothers and i a present. Nor did they believe it was a way to raise a child. So growing up, i never really got the things i want. I remember going back to school after the holidays and see all the girls in my grade with their pen and that all i got was a pair of mitten and a red winter boots. My mom made it worst when she tried to convince me that it looked the same as Sailor Moon's.

Now that i'm a bit older, i wouldn't mind having that pair of mitten and those red boots. As long as its cashmere and Marc Jacobs :P All in all, i've decided to work on my wish list this year. Theres a few goodies i can afford. But those who know me, knows that i always want the unaffordable ones. I can still wish for them though, right? Ahhh...the wonders of Christmas!
1. Tuck Harem pants - CLU
2. Yvette Suede heels - Loeffler Randall
3. Zig Zag scarf - Tsumori Chisato
4. New Orleans Mid Calf w/ Strap boots - Joie

The City

Last weekend, a few friends and i headed to the city for the weekend. Had a great time in there and spent like no tomorrow. S got a super good deal with a traval agency in chinatown so we payed $140, bus + hotel + tour included. There where two groups for the trip, those who are with the tour and those going on a free tour, meaning the bus would dropped those people off at a place, leaving them doing whatever they wanted around the city and pick them up at the same place in the evening. We, of course, took the free tour. It wasn't as hard as we thought going from a place to another in Manhattan. The first day we walked around Time Square, the second day we shopped around 5th Ave and Broadway, ktown and chinatown. On the third day, it was Woodbury in Jersey with the tour group before heading back home.
It was my first time in the city but it somewhat felt as if i never left home. Seriously, when were were walking around 5th, it felt as if we were walking on Ste-Catherine back in Mtl. The two cities are really similar minus the shish kebab/hotdog stands at every corner of the streets, the yellow taxi and the +8.9 million citizens walking around the city. Nonetheless, NYC charmed me. I enjoyed my time there and would definitely be going again. I'll post some pictures up soon but for now i only have two pics from my phone. You can see something funny here. We witnessed Elmo, Cookie Monster and Bugs Bunny questionned by the NYPDs in Time Square haha. The kids walking by there were shocked. It was as if they've been told Santa do not exist. My face was icky that day. It was really hot and humid.

I received my 3rd and last rejection last week. Not surprised at all. I totally saw it coming after the last one. But anyways, I have another plan for the fall semester. I'll be taking evening classes instead for that quarter and register again during the winter admissions. I'm determined of my goals for now. I'll work my hardest to make it possible. I'm thinking positive :) Happy St-Jean to all of you today!

En Bref

1- I lack in the update department but i'm still alive and living one hell of an exciting life (hence the sarcasm, thank you very much.)
2- School is pitiful.
3- Bank account is down to two digits. Crap!
4- Curse the work place.
5- Chris Brown and Rihanna...what the eff?!
6- My love for a hobo has not died yet :D

On vday, i had dinner with M. We were totally against the idea of it being a 'lovers' day so we decided to the spend the day together as happy singles. Those were our initial thoughts but as we had dinner, we felt hopeless. Being surrounded by couples on that particular day wasn't the greatest idea. Nonetheless, we both had a great time. Dinner was exquisite. We went to a thai vegetarian restaurant where my cousin works on St.Denis called Chu Chai. It was actually my first time eating there but i've tasted the food before. I still can't believe we didn't have meat. Everything looked and tasted so real! After dinner we headed across the street for dessert at Rockaberry. Despite feeling gloomy that day, i still received roses at the end of the evening, from my little brother. Yes i know, he's adorable (:

twenty-oh-nine

Somehow the number nine scares me. Not that i thought year 08 was my favorite (au contraire i expected A LOT more from that year) but i'm not a fan of the number nine. It has not even been a whole day yet! Last night, some close friends and i had dinner at my house. I remember when i was younger, my parents would always be invited to different venues and parties. I always thought that someday, my friends and i were to do the same. Now its just funny how as we get older we feel less festive. Other than dinner, we just sat around and talked. My mom made us watch with her her usual korean horror movie which they aired on Arirang every evening at 8pm. That would probably be one of the best highlights of the evening. I usually hate horror movies, but this time i had a great laugh as one of us would start saying random comments throughout 'The Tale of Two Sisters' . After a quick 'happy new year' with champagne and a 5 minute phone call with my family in the US, i headed to my room and quickly fell asleep -sigh- Sleep...

Today I thought of one thing my co-worker mentioned to me before new year. She said something about her horoscope for this year. Now that i'm on the edge of boredom and that i've put New Moon aside for a while i decided to look up for my horoscope. I literally LOLed at a few of them but they all seemed to balance really well. Here's one of the most understandable of all the ones i've checked. Short and simple.

''2009 Libra Forecast : The conjunction of venus and uranus gives you good charisma and makes you romantic. You may have unusual and original ideas about art and love. You will be independent and enjoy financial advantages. You will be very optimistic and able to inspire others. You are also likely to be very lucky. You are very vigorous and have strong vitality and are very firm about your beliefs.''

'The conjunction of venus and uranus gives you good charisma and makes you romantic.' - I have to admit, i am a hopeless romantic. 'You may have unusual and original ideas about art and love.' - Does wishing mythical characters exist and falling in love with a vampire counts as unusual? (kekee) 'You will be very optimistic and able to inspire others. You are also likely to be very lucky.' I doubt the lucky part. I've had enough episodes of non-lucky events going on so far that i don't think i will rely on that for a certain time. Anyways, happy new year everyone!
